CalGBA is in full strategic planning mode for the UN Convention on Biological Diversity’s COP17 taking place in Yerevan, Armenia in October 2026.
Rosalind is a co-founder and co-lead of CalGBA, and planning is being led by a members inclusive COP17 Planning Committee with subgroups — also co-chaired by CalGBA members — focused on diverse areas of engagement, including Tribal Governments Engagement, Environmental Justice Community Engagement, Case Studies Development (for localizing the Global Biodiversity Framework targets), Government and Policymakers Engagement, Academia and Research Partners Coordination, and planning for logistics and educational workshops and trainings.
CalGBA is partnering with organizations like ICLEI, IUCN, National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, Global Youth Biodiversity Network USA, Point Blue Conservation Science, the CBD Secretariat, the California Natural Resources Agency, municipal governments, California Environmental Voters and others for dialogues in the lead up to COP17.
