Five years ago, Literature for Life launched with seed funding from the University of Southern California. Our first issue was a test featuring outstanding work from primarily Los Angeles based authors.
After publishing four more issues and collaborating with educators to refine our curriculum, we revisited Issue 1. Our team has re-edited and written all new curriculum for Issue 1. Students will study Issue 1 stories in fall 2018 and the contributing authors will visit LAUSD classrooms.
At LitFest Pasadena in May, many of the Issue 1 contributors gathered to read their work and celebrate the re-launch.
