It’s been an incredible honor over nearly four years (concluding January 2026) for Rosalind Helfand to serve with UN-Women. Rosalind served first as Thematic Lead of the Feminist Action for Climate Justice (FACJ) Action Coalition — a global multistakeholder partnership of over 150 organizations and governments — and then as Advisor on the Rio Conventions addressing the nexus of gender equality and climate change, biodiversity loss and land degradation, including as a leading contributor to UN-Women’s work and publications on advancing gender-responsive synergies across the Rio Conventions.
More than ever, it’s necessary to recognize and address the linkages both between the problem of gender inequality and our critical environmental and social challenges, and the opportunities for long lasting solutions when we address gender inequality, inequity, the need to protect human rights and our environmental challenges holistically.
It’s been a privilege to collaborate with the extraordinary, dynamic and inspiring team at UN-Women, and with leaders from UN-Women’s many partner organizations from across the world representing civil society, youth, grassroots women-led organizations, other UN agencies and the Rio Conventions, governments, finance and philanthropy, Indigenous peoples and the private sector.
Rosalind is looking forward to continuing her collaboration and collective action. Interested in working with Rosalind? Learn more here.
