Students Reimagine the Future with Green Sci-Fi

We honored Los Angeles County high school students for their outstanding contributions to eco-themed short science fiction at the 7th Annual Omega Sci-Fi Awards readings in 2022. The Green Feather Award is a unique sci-fi writing challenge that asks students to write a narrative that depicts humanity overcoming today’s environmental challenges. This program results in a wealth of ideas and stories that range from examining ultra-local to planet-wide crises.

The Green Feather Award is presented by the Pasadena-based arts and education nonprofit, Light Bringer Project, in partnership with Nature Nexus Institute. This nonprofit program is made possible by sponsors such as The Roddenberry Foundation. Rosalind Helfand is the Director of the Omega Sci-fi Awards.

The 8th Annual Omega Sci-Fi Awards readings and recognitions will take place in May 2023.
