The Tomorrow Prize and The Roswell Award Short Science Fiction Readings Presented at LitFest Pasadena May 20 and 21

Sci-Fest LA and the arts and education nonprofit, Light Bringer Project, will present dramatic readings of the finalists’ stories for The Tomorrow Prize for short science fiction by an LA County high school student and The Roswell Award for short science fiction by adults worldwide followed by awards presentations on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21 at LitFest Pasadena. Featured celebrity guests will read the stories on stage, including Allison Scagliotti (Stitchers), Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), Anna Maria Horsford (The Bold and the Beautiful), Carlease Burke (Crowded), Madison McLaughlin (Arrow), Peter Mackenzie (Black-ish), David Blue (SGU: Stargate Universe), Jasika Nicole (Fringe), Jonathan Slavin (Dr. Ken), and Graham Sibley (Fear the Walking Dead).

I serve as the Director of these competitions, which are designed to encourage and nurture up and coming science fiction writing talent, recognizing that sci-fi serves as a unique vehicle for creatively exploring and seeking solutions to the issues and moral dilemmas that confront us today.
