The California Global Biodiversity Working Group (CGBWG) brought together nearly 50 Californians for our extended delegation to the UN Biodiversity Conference in Montreal in December 2022. You can read about the outcomes of California’s participation here.
In 2023, the CGBWG convened stakeholders from across the state of California to debrief and discuss next steps. Overwhelmingly, there is support to ensure that California’s legislation supports the targets of the world’s Global Biodiversity Framework, and that we make progress for nature in our state.
A Steering Committee is being formed for the CGBWG and more updates are forthcoming.
