SCI-FEST LA Presents Readings of New Short Science Fiction May 16 and May 24

As the Director of Sci-Fest LA’s two short science fiction writing competitions, The Tomorrow Prize for L.A. teen writers and The Roswell Award for adult writers from around the world, I am thrilled to announce that a truly fantastic cast of celebrity guests will be reading the finalists’ stories on stage at the Acme Theater on La Brea this month! The Tomorrow Prize stories will be read on Saturday, May 16 at 4pm. The Roswell Award stories will be read on Sunday, May 24 at 7pm. Both readings will be followed by a prize given to the winner of each competition. Sci-Fest LA founded these writing competitions to encourage and recognize emerging writing talent and a new generation of science fiction writers. This is our first year hosting these competitions. Students from five high schools around LA submitted work to The Tomorrow Prize and over 300 writers submitted stories to The Roswell Award!
