Science Fiction for Social & Environmental Change — The Tomorrow Prize and The Roswell Award are a Success!

I direct two science fiction writing competitions that emphasize science fiction as a lens through which to explore today’s social, environmental, and ethical issues. The Tomorrow Prize is for Los Angeles County high school students and includes three general prizes, as well as a special prize for environmental conservation themed sci-fi, The Green Feather Award, and The Roswell Award for adults worldwide that also includes three general prizes and a special prize for feminist themed sci-fi, the Women Hold Up Half the Sky Award. Actors read the top stories from each competition at LitFest Pasadena in May and we honored the winners.

The event was a big success and we look forward to opening submissions for our fifth year in the fall!
