IPBES Transformative Change, Nexus and Business Biodiversity Assessments

In February 2026, Rosalind attended the 12th Plenary of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), where a new global Business and Biodiversity Assessment was negotiated by about 150 members states of the platform. Participating with the University of Cambridge Conservation Leadership Alumni Network (a network of hundreds of conservation and policy experts from around the world) delegation, Rosalind sought clarity and ambition in the negotiated language, including for linkages like the gender equality and the role of small business networks. You can read the Business and Biodiversity Assessment Summary for Policymakers here.

Rosalind also contributed to the CBD Women’s Caucus blog as a co-author discussing What the Business and Biodiversity Assessment Means for Gender Justice.

In 2024, Rosalind also attended the IPBES 11 negotiations after having served as an expert reviewer on the Rosalind served on the Underlying Causes of Biodiversity Loss and the Determinants of Transformative Change and Options for Achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity assessment — or the Transformative Change Assessment (Summary for Policymakers for this assessment is available here) and on the Interlinkages among Biodiversity, Water, Food and Health (and Climate) assessment — or the Nexus Assessment (Summary for Policymakers for this assessment is available here).
