A massive grassroots movement led by museums and other research institutions and nonprofit organizations to engage ordinary citizens in education, scientific research, and data collection for the purpose of conservation, Citizen Science is the wave of the future. I’ll be attending the Citizen Science Symposium at the Long Beach Aquarium on February 20, where we’ll hear about important conservation topics from researchers, discuss the growth of Citizen Science programs, and more.
I’m also interested in seeing Citizen Science incorporated into community service programs for youth.
