In January, the National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles celebrated the 43rd anniversary of Roe v Wade and geared up for another year of working hard to protect and expand women’s access to the full range of reproductive health care options — including abortion. I helped to produce and curate this event, which drew nearly 200 guests and 20 co-sponsoring reproductive justice, social justice, women’s rights, and civil rights organizations.
The evening included true life storytelling hosted by the Unplanned Story Party and speakers from organizations including Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, Black Women for Wellness, California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, and more. It was a tremendous success, and just the beginning of what is going to be a great year working for reproductive justice.
