Opening of the Urban Nature Research Center, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

What a thrill to attend the launch of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County’s new Urban Nature Research Center! Held on April 13, 2016, the museum’s new President, Dr. Lori Bettison-Varga, presided and the highly supportive L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas spoke. I am proud to participate regularly in the museum’s outstanding and ever growing Citizen Science program. The Urban Nature Research Center is not just a place to examine how nature is adapting and changing in our cities, it’s a new model for engaging the public in urban biodiversity research that will benefit conservation efforts! In fact, because of the Natural History Museum, Los Angeles is a worldwide leader in studying nature in cities for conservation purposes and engaging citizen scientists. Learn more HERE!
